Truong at Fort Flagler

The amazing Truong and I went to Fort Flagler to shoot this morning. Fort Flagler is part of the "Triangle of Fire," three artillery forts built to defend the entrance to the Puget Sound at the end of the 19th century. All three forts (Casey, Flagler, Worden) are state parks now, and great places to shoot.

No trip to Portland is complete without a stop at Powell's, buying a gaming book at Guardian Games, and hanging out with Dylan, preferably with photos.
Dillon in Portland!
I think Dillon puts more of himself into modeling that anyone else I know. Here he's at The Society Hotel (which frankly was a lot nicer on their website than in reality). My friend and fellow photographer Matty is shooting as well.

Dillon came to town yesterday. He's staying with me till Sunday, when we'll drive to Portland to meet up with Matty. He and I hung out with Kyle for a few hours today, and shot some photos at Seattle Center and Lakeview Cemetery. Tonight we're going to the Seattle Symphony with Brian, where we'll hear Gershwin's piano concerto and Beethoven's 7th Symphony.

It’s been nearly eight months since I last shot with Truong, Far, far too long. We met up for a quick shoot at my place, which was the location of our first shoot nearly four years ago.
Portland for the Weekend!
I had a busy weekend in Portland. I had a new camera and lenses to try out, so I arranged shoots with a couple of my regulars and some new models as well.
Dylan and I met up Friday night. I try to catch up with him every time I go to Portland. Not only is he an excellent model, but he’s just fun to hang out with. Here he is at the Hotel Eastlund, lounging on the couch.
Robert and I met Saturday morning. A photographer friend had introduced us online, and we’d been talking for a week or so about shooting. We shot for a couple of hours, indoors and out. It went well, and I look forward to shooting with him again.
Shaun and I shot Saturday afternoon. This was our third shoot, and my first chance to shoot him dancing.
A few days before the trip, Damian messaged me on Model Mayhem, said some nice things about my portfolio, and expressed an interest in shooting with me, so we arranged to meet and discuss a shoot. We met at Red Robin and talked, and then shot a few random shots. I definitely want to shoot him again.
Franklin had been part of the group for the Oregon Dunes shoot last year, but it had been a large group so I didn’t have a lot of time with him. This shoot, I got more one on one time with him. He’s eager and enthusiastic and photographs beautifully.
And finally there was Bear. He and Matt had shot a few times, and I was thrilled to get a chance to shoot with him, too. I wasn’t disappointed. He’s a free spirit, tall, slender, effortlessly sexy, and an effective collaborator in making the shot happen. He also supplied the quote of the day.
